Soufriere, St Lucia – The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation SRDF would like to express Congratulations to the winners and nominees of the 2018 national awards of the St Lucia Industrial and Small Business Association (SLISBA).
The awards which focused on inspiring creativity, and innovation for national development among the Small Business Industry, was a joint collaboration between SLISBA and the Community Engagement Office of the SRDF.
According to Ms. Glyndia Charles, Community Engagement Officer, “the event was indeed a success with some objectives in mind, honouring and recognizing our current and upcoming entrepreneurs and small businesses that are the backbone of our economy.”
The initiative was also used as a marketing platform to sensitize and encourage those young entrepreneurs and small businesses that are not registered with SLISBA to plug in and enjoy the many perks and opportunities for further growth and development within the business economy of St. Lucia and the wider region.
Over thirty eight categories were recognized with an attempt to highlight the unsung heroes. Examples Coconut water vendor of the Year, shoemaker of the Year, DJ of the Year, Fisherman of the Year, Hairdresser of the Year, Roadside Vendor of the Year among others.
The event was celebrated at Morne Coubaril Estate in Soufriere on Saturday November 17th 2018.

The Soufriere Foundation is a not for profit organisation located in Soufriere. Its mandate is to undertake social, economic, cultural and other sustainable developments in the Soufriere region.
